Magna are a housing association based in the UK, offering social housing, affordable rent, shared ownership and open market sale to thousands of residents from all walks of life. After a period of significant restructuring and change at board level, with a renewed focus on growth, Halo were appointed to define and develop a strategic roadmap for the brand, focusing on digital self-serve for residents and a series of sustainable housing developments.

After 12 months of extensive engagement and consultation throughout the organisation - at every level - and with residents, housing partners and contractors, we developed a detailed strategy to support the business growth ambitions, and put in place the architecture required for incremental digital transformation.

Our work concluded with a complete design refresh, tone-of-voice implementation and communications platform, building compelling and effective marketing.

Setting the right tone

Above all else, tone of voice is the most vital of Magna’s distinctive assets. With a large and varied audience with very different needs – from social housing to new home sales – Magna need to talk, a lot, making the right copy, with the right feel, essential. From emails to push notifications, contracts to hoardings, press advertising to partner briefings we’ve developed a style that embodies the Magna personality, defined by warmth and clarity.
