A true original in the world of independent coffee, Origin are one of the most respected (and successful) brands in the UK, known for their exceptional coffee, inventive blends and iconic artwork – by a stable of new and established artists.

Appointed to add depth to the brand and develop a strategy to grow recall and consideration in both B2C and B2B, our research showed us that our audience needed to see behind the manicured design, to the heart of the brand and coffee growers around the world.

With a mix of film – shot on location in El Salvador - and a host of digital experiences across Origin’s site, on social, on pack and POS, it’s a view of the market’s most crafted brand that’s got all the style, but with just the right amount of edge.

The origin of Origin

We started with a documentary, joining Origin in El Salvador as they embarked on a 3mth sourcing / buying trip. The short film takes you in from the wind swept coast, to the mountains and finally into the cup back home. A whirlwind visual experience that leaves you in no doubt about the authenticity of the brand or the coffee beans, roasted and ground to perfection.

To celebrate Origin’s birthday we created a raft of content to promote the brand across social, connecting with the creators behind the art and the artisans behind the coffee. Drawing on some beautiful original collaborations from the archives, brought to life in film and animation, it’s a story of a brand that’s as expressive as a richly roasted espresso.
